Before the increase in usage of our mobile devices for photography, we use our desktops for editing pictures. In the Mac, Photos is the current application for storing and editing pictures taken on your camera or mobile devices. Photos is a combination of some of the capabilities available in iPhoto and Aperture. I have been a user of iPhoto and currently of the Photos application on my 6-yr old Mac.
I discovered Filters for Photos from the blogs I follow and tried out the application myself. The application can be downloaded for free from Macphun's site. The application can work on its own or serve as an extension inside the Photos application. Applying the filters in the application is pretty straightforward and you still have available settings to configure if you want to make subtle changes. Sharing options are available in the standalone app to upload on your social media accounts.
If you still use your Mac for photo editing, you might want to give this application a try. You won't be spending anything as the application is free.
