My personal experience attending Nuffnang's Blogopolis 2012
|Abe Olandres of Yugatech|
|Maria Ressa of The Rappler|
The conference was unique for me because after each speaker presentation, a set of panelists join them on stage for a Q&A discussion. The audience are then encouraged to ask questions. In the afternoon, more bloggers presented to the audience. Instead of speaking individually, they all came up on stage as a group that allowed the audience to ask them questions. This was also a fun discussion and I really enjoyed listening to them. Some of the members of the group include Abe Olandres (yugatech), Tippy and Anthony Go (googlygooeys), Noemi Lardizabal-Dado (aboutmyrecovery.com), Ivan Henares (ivanhenares.com), Carlo Ople (thenewmedia.com), Christine Dychiao (manilafashionobserver.com) and David Guison (davidguison.com).

Of course this is an event where you need to socialise and network with other people. It was my objective to meet other participants to discuss what they write about and learn how their ads are generating income for them so far. I am very fortunate to meet some of them. They even gave me calling cards to contact them and check out their site. They are like me who started their blog about a year ago.
The event was also filled with raffles and there are a lot of freebies for the participants. In case you noticed that I have a lot of posts on Facebook and Twitter last Sunday, those are because of the raffles, haha.
The latter part of the afternoon was spent for breakout sessions. I participated on the session discussing creating ideas for writing, building your brand and of course photography.
The event was capped off with a social party in the evening. The major prizes were also given away during this time like the iPhone 5, iPad Mini and the latest iPad.

All in all, the event was a major success. If there will be another one next year, I would suggest though starting the event on time and as scheduled. I would also probably bring my Macbook or iPad mini (if I have one already, haha) for blogging live during the event. Personally, I went home exhausted but filled with new ideas, inspiration and bags of goodies.
It's definitely more fun blogging in the Philippines!
